Fried Okra fingers (Bhindi fry)

Fried okra is very tasty. you can serve this with evening tea or meal. Goes well with both. You will be surprised to see the gooey okras transform into tasty crispy snack pack. If you want to keep your calorie intake minimal then this dish can also be made in oven, Oil free.

Ingredients

250g Okra cut into half

1tsp red chilli powder

2tsp coriander powder

1/4tsp turmeric powder

1/2cup cornflour

1/2tsp garam masala

1/2tsp tamaring paste

1tsp ginger garlic paste

Pinch of chat masala

oil- as required

salt as required.

water as required

Method

Take cut okra in a bowl. Add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, tumeric powder, coriander powder, Ginger garlic paste, salt to taste and tamarind paste. Mix well. Then add cornflour and mix. Okra should be smeared in masala. Add a bit of water to bind the mixture to okra and set aside for 20mins.


Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated okras till they are brown and crisp.


Serve in plate and sprinkle chat masala on the okra. Serve with tea or meal.


If you are calorie conscious then instead of frying the okra, bake it in oven till they are brown and crispy.
